Food processing and safety
01
We help you design, review, and troubleshoot thermal processes across aseptic, retort/canning, and hot-fill lines. Beyond compliance, we support R&D and product development—from concept to commercialization—covering formulation for thermal stability (pH, water activity, viscosity/rheology), packaging selection (cans, pouches, aseptic), line capability studies, scale-up, and pilot/DOE trials. We also run shelf-life and safety programs: challenge studies, accelerated/real-time shelf-life, microbiology, sensory, and physico-chemical testing with clear acceptance criteria. Deliverables include process authority opinions, risk assessments, scheduled processes, validation plans, and regulatory-ready documentation aligned with FDA, EU, and global standards.
03
Hands-on training tailored to your products: F, D, z fundamentals; Reynolds/regime analysis; thermal & volumetric expansion; and compliant documentation. We cover retort canning calculations (Ball’s method, lethality integration, scheduled process development), aseptic/HTST practices, and PMO-aligned dairy processing. Workshops are available onsite or online with practical exercises and downloadable calculators.
05
We plan and execute SIP qualifications for processing systems and fillers (cycle development, mapping, BI use where applicable), sterilization tests for aseptic packaging (Hâ‚‚Oâ‚‚/PAA/UV validation and residue checks), media-fill/aseptic process simulations, and heat-penetration & temperature-distribution studies for in-container retort processes. We also verify holding time/flow, support FAT/SAT, and conduct audits (internal readiness, supplier/co-packer, and mock regulatory inspections) with audit response support. Deliverables include protocols, data packs, deviations/CAPAs, and regulatory-ready reports aligned with 21 CFR Part 113, PMO, EU food hygiene regulations (e.g., EC 852/2004, 853/2004), Codex, and common global customer/retailer standards.
02
From hold-tube sizing to residence-time and exit-temperature targets, we translate requirements into engineered specs. We support heat exchangers (plate, tubular, scraped-surface), retorts, packaging fillers, and mixing systems, alongside piping, valves, and controls. We also design processes for low-moisture and dry foods (hygienic design, validation strategies) and implement advanced technologies such as microwave (MW) and ohmic heating. Services include vendor selection, P&IDs, FAT/SAT, and commissioning so systems hit performance and compliance on day one.
04
Advanced Tech (Modeling & Software)
We bring data to decisions with our tools: AdvThermaLogic for continuous-flow calculations and our Non-Newtonian analyzer for model fitting and Reynolds estimation. Expect science-first models, unit-aware conversions, and reproducible results.
06
We offer self-paced, certificate-granting e-learning for food process teams: Advanced Process Calculations (HTST/aseptic math you’ll use—F, D, z, Reynolds/regime, expansion, hold-tube design), Ball’s Method for Canned Foods (step-by-step retort scheduling with worked examples), and General Principles of Thermal Processing (thermo-bacteriology, equipment—retort/hot-fill/aseptic—plus GMP and case studies). All courses are online and available anytime.
